Photos with Captions to Make You Smile & Think

I’m writing this on my back deck, bundled in a hoodie, too stubborn to admit that summer’s slipping away into fall. But hey, a bit of harmless denial can be fun. Right?

I just realized that my last post with this title was on June 30, so maybe it’s time to digitally lob a few more of these pics your way.

Hey, why should Mr. Wile E. Coyote have all the fun?

It takes guts to throw your work out there.

Yes, I’ve been told that it works with laptops too. Desk top computers, not so much. Sooo much fun for those of us on a budget!

I think the book may have been this tree’s relative.

Born and raised on a farm near Brockville, Ontario, Mark Bierman's childhood consisted of chores, riding horses, snowmobile races across open fields, fishing trips to a local lake, and many other outdoor adventures. He was also an avid reader of both fiction and non. Transitioning towards adulthood also meant moving from the farm and into large urban areas that introduced this country boy to life in the big cities. After a short stint as a private investigator, he moved into the role of Correctional Officer, working at both Millhaven Institution and Kingston Penitentiary, until it closed.

  1. Oh no, that tree. It should have picked a different time to fall. Good thing you didn’t let it hit your back, Mark. I don’t get to sit on the back porch too often. It either is too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. Our spring and autumn are cheating and teasingly short. Great photos with wonderful captions. 🙂

  2. These are all great, Mark, but glad you were okay in that last one. When I first read “Reading is dangerous” I thought of all the knowledge one could gain. Take care and be safe! 🙂

  3. Glad that branch didnt do you a nasty, why we call em, silent widow makers, I have pulled out smaller branches that have impaled the ground by as much as a foot in depth.
I love random fun stuff, I have incorporated a little slippery dip into our front landscape & I will be adding a climbing net to get up to the back veranda. Too much fun. Thanks for the fun.

  5. Yikes! That last one is scary.
Thanks for sharing these, Mark. We’re still clinging to summer in Pennsylvania, but I know autumn isn’t far behind.
BTW, really got a chuckle out of that first one with the ACME Rocket. 🙂
