Making The Best Of It

Well, this morning I woke to a sore throat and cough; a rapid test confirmed that I am the “gracious” host of COVID. Whoo-whoo, it’s like winning the lottery when every ticket has the same number. No worries, it feels just like a cold. Any how, I’m currently confined to our home office/guest room.

I must say that I’ve accomplished quite a bit of writing, and have devised a clever means by which I hope to obtain sustenance and comforts.

Check it out! I haven’t officially tested this baby, as no one is currently home, but I’m sure everyone will be more than excited to answer the bell. Mwwwhahaha! The sky’s the limit! I can’t wait! 🙂

Born and raised on a farm near Brockville, Ontario, Mark Bierman's childhood consisted of chores, riding horses, snowmobile races across open fields, fishing trips to a local lake, and many other outdoor adventures. He was also an avid reader of both fiction and non. Transitioning towards adulthood also meant moving from the farm and into large urban areas that introduced this country boy to life in the big cities. After a short stint as a private investigator, he moved into the role of Correctional Officer, working at both Millhaven Institution and Kingston Penitentiary, until it closed.

  1. That’s one way to get some writing done. Let’s hope the rest of the family dodges the virus. A sense of humor is often the best way to approach these things.

  2. Sorry you won the virus lottery. I certainly hope that those who will respond to the buzzer do not have a long list of “now I can get even with Mark” items/events/episodes. Payback can be hell. 😉

  3. Oh, no! I’m so sorry you were hit with COVID, Mark. I’m glad it seems to be mostly mild, but I know it has to result in a lot of hiccups when it comes to everyday living.
At least you’re going to get the kingly treatment judging by that sign and buzzer. 😁
Take care and feel better! 🤗

  4. I love your sense of humor, Mark! Sorry you’ve finally been caught by COVID, but I’ve heard humor makes it leave the body more quickly. Apparently, it can’t attack the funny bone and becomes so envious that it vacates the source. 😉
