Photos with Captions, To Make You Smile and Think

Did everyone remember to change their clocks ahead this weekend? At least for those areas that practice this. In Canada, most of the province of Saskatchewan, some locations in Québec, and some areas of British Columbia, don’t use DST and stay on standard time all year.

I must admit, that I wish my home province of Ontario, would dispense with Daylight Savings Time, but that’s just me.

Regardless of what your area does, or how you feel about it, I hope these photos with captions will brighten your day. Enjoy. 🙂

Before you criticize, please try to remember that not everyone has the same advantages as you.

Sage means business.

Born and raised on a farm near Brockville, Ontario, Mark Bierman's childhood consisted of chores, riding horses, snowmobile races across open fields, fishing trips to a local lake, and many other outdoor adventures. He was also an avid reader of both fiction and non. Transitioning towards adulthood also meant moving from the farm and into large urban areas that introduced this country boy to life in the big cities. After a short stint as a private investigator, he moved into the role of Correctional Officer, working at both Millhaven Institution and Kingston Penitentiary, until it closed.

  1. Daylight Savings–it’s the only time I wish I lived in Saskatchewan (although I hear it’s quite nice there). That tricycle made me sad–luckily my daughter has come home to live while her classes are all online!

  2. I got really confused two days ago when I looked to see when the clocks went forward. I saw the 14th March when I Googled it… then realised that was for you guys in the US. Ours in the end of the month. I think Daylight Savings was an initiative to confuse the masses!

That first image, about hearing the burdens, got me in the feelies. That’s a good one. And I love the kittykat threatening the fox. Cats can be pretty smart sometimes with their threats 😺 xx

      1. Sorry, Mark. I have a tendency to think US with you for some reason, I get confused with who’s where. I need to remember you’re in Canada!

You have some industrious kittykats. Don’t let them near Google otherwise they’ll be asking ‘how to use claws to remove sticky tape’.

      2. No problem. I can’t keep track of who lives where, most of the time. 🙂 Yes. they haven’t learned how to use the computer yet, but there will come a time, I’m sure. Sage also has an extra toe, which allow her to balance on railing , , , and perhaps, eventually remove tape. 🙂

  3. I could do without the time changes too, Mark. Either one is fine with me, just pick one. 🙂 Thanks for the giggles too. I’m partial to the cat threatening the box, and the last one was pretty funny. Your kids DO know you, apparently. 😀

  4. The cat one cracked me up. I catsit for a friend of mine every now and then, and her cat spends all day trying to jump up and swat my fish tank. Granted, my fish tank is built into the wall and is almost 300 gallons. She’ll never get into it. LOL!

As for DST, I LOVE it! I get to sleep in later on the weekends, and the sun stays out later, allowing me to enjoy the beach and outdoor activities for longer periods of time. 🙂

    1. Cats are characters, aren’t they? We have two and they constantly compete for the trunk on the bay window…it’s like Pride Rock in the Lion King. 🙂 Yes, there is an upside to the DST, but it’s hard on alot of people, physically.

  5. I got choked up looking at the bike. That’s so true and happened in the blink of an eye. Now my grandkids ride it.

    1. Quite a few readers were impacted by that one. It was originally a six word story, that I wrote sometime ago. It does go by fast. I’m glad you have grandchildren to enjoy. 🙂

  6. I would love to see DST go away. It takes me forever to adjust when we do the clock change, although I do like the longer evenings.
Thanks for sharing the photos and thoughts, Mark. They were all enjoyable!

  7. Thank you for sharing great laughter, Mark! I hope you had a enjoyable weekend, and will have a wonderful week! We in Germany will change our clocks again on March 28th. I doubt the usefulness of this thing. But since we will no longer use nuclear energy, they will continue to want to get more out of it this way. We are in Germany. We still have to learn how democracy really works. 😉 Michael
