I love this Mark. Your daughter took a beautiful photograph too. Does she enjoy photography? I wonder if she’s a future pro behind the lens capturing life!
I definitely agree with you about the easiest path. For some reason, it reminds me of that classic saying from a parent to a child, “If everyone else jumped off a cliff – does that mean you’d do it too?” So many people take the ‘easy road’ in life instead of the ‘high road.’ There’s a whole lot less traffic on that high road though, ha ha!
Challenge may not be easy but the results are always worth it. Besides, who wants to be like everyone else, anyway? 😊
Sending love to you and your family, Mark. Love your thought-provoking posts!

Great comments, Holly. Thank you so much. Yes, my daughter loves photography, though her aspiration is robotic engineering. Perhaps it will be a wonderful hobby for her later in life as well.

But is the straight path always the easiest, Mark?

Depends on what’s underneath, next to, or directly on the path. So, not always.

The greatest danger is when we think it’s a straight and easy path and we lower our alertness. I love your daughter’s photo and your story, Mark.

When we drive long distance, I don’t like having my husband using cruise control!

Yeah….um, I’m thinking it probably isn’t wise to walk that old rail bed alone 🙂

Me neither, but people do it all the time.

I love pictures like this. I always find myself following the tracks until I can’t see anymore. You see danger; I see adventure. Lol! 🙂

My daughter took the photo yesterday. I agree on the adventure part, but always look over the shoulder. 🙂
